INVITATION
You are invited to participate in the annual Governor's Cup Regatta hosted by the Austin Yacht Club (AYC) on beautiful Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. AYC is the Host and Organizing Authority. The regatta is open to mono-hull keel boats, centerboard boats, and all multi-hull type boats.

RULES AND EQUIPMENT
This regatta will be governed by the current 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association (US SAILING), the rules of each class concerned, this Notice (except as any of these are altered by the regatta Sailing Instructions) and by the regatta Sailing Instructions. Sailing instructions will be available during check-in to registered skippers. Registration will not be accepted for boats without numbers on their mainsails and spinnakers unless excepted by class rules.

RACE FORMAT
Up to 5 races are scheduled for the 2 days of racing. Courses will be of windward/leeward configurations or variations thereof. One race will constitute a regatta.

CLASSES
Five or more boats of the same design will be grouped into one-design classes. All other keel and trimaran boats will be divided into spinnaker and non-spinnaker handicap classes and will be scored using the PHRF of Lake Travis Handicap Rating System. All other centerboard and multi-hull boats other than trimarans will be divided into handicap classes and will be scored using the most recent U. S. Sailing Portsmouth system.

MEASUREMENT
Measurement is not required, but each boat racing in any PHRF handicap class must have a PHRF Handicap Certificate on file with AYC or must complete one at skipper check-in.

SCORING
The Low Point Scoring System described in Appendix A of the Racing Rules will be used without any throw-outs. This modifies RRS A2.

FEES
The entry fee for mono-hull keel boats and trimarans is $45.00. The entry fee for single handed centerboard boats is $40.00. A late fee of $15.00 will be added to all registrations received after early registration closes (i.e. 5pm on Friday, September 9th, 2005). Members of US Sailing may take a $5.00 entry fee discount (to be verified at check-in).

TROPHIES
Trophies will be awarded to the winning skipper and crew within each class as follows:

The annual Governor's Cup Trophy will also be awarded to the out-of-town yacht club with the largest regatta participation.

FACILITIES
There are limited campsites available on the AYC grounds. Showers and restrooms are available to all regatta participants and guests. Some cabins and screened shelters are also available for rent. Please contact the AYC office at 266-1336 for cabin rentals. Pets and fireworks are strictly prohibited on AYC grounds.
