Austin Yacht Club Racing
There is racing almost every week of the non-winter months. AYC offers one of the most active racing calendars of any yacht club in the U.S. We support the following one-design and handicap fleets;
The Austin Yacht Club has a nationally known sailboat racing program. At AYC, racing is a year-round activity, from the New Year’s Day Red Eye Regatta and to the Wild Turkey Regatta in late November. In between we have multi-week series races, Friday night “beer can” races, Wednesday night Laser and Sunfish races, remote control boat races, youth races of all types, and weekend regattas such as Turnback Canyon and Governor’s Cup.
We have racing for all ages, ranging from youth participating in Roadrunner races to the young at heart competing in the Chaparral de Mar Regatta.
Boat sizes range from remote control boats to centerboard boats to thirty-foot-plus mono-hulls and multi-hulls. We have one-design, centerboard handicap, and Performance Racing fleets. You can learn more about our fleets.
