Austin/Travis County COVID protocols

Austin / Travis County Health Authorities announced the COVID Stage 4 on September 29, 2021.

The following actions are in line with AYC’s COVID Plan at a Stage 4 alert from Austin/Travis County health authorities. We take these actions in an effort to protect the health and safety of everyone in the AYC family.  Your cooperation is most appreciated.  We will be able to return to more “normal” AYC activities as soon as this COVID spike is over and governmental health authorities drop us to a lower COVID stage of alert.  Thank you.

GENERAL:

  • The Clubhouse will be open, but masks indoors will be requested even for those vaccinated.
  • The Clubhouse will not schedule events to be held indoors.
  • The bathhouses will remain open, and regular cleaning will continue.
  • The pool will remain open.
  • The Office will be open, but masks will be requested inside.
  • Members, guests, and staff will be encouraged to social distance and to wear masks in keeping with Austin/Travis County health guidelines.

RECURRING ACTIVITIES:

Recurring activities include:  summer camp, PB&J, High school practice, Opti series, Wednesday Sunfish / Laser races, Tuesday DF-95 races, Friday Beer can races, and Sunday free sail.

  • Fleet and series races will continue with participants encouraged to take the appropriate COVID precautions.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

  • Food will be served outdoors. Only those preparing the food should be in the clubhouse, wearing masks.
  • Local and regional regattas will be held, modified or canceled on a case by case basis. Coordination with each regatta or event chair is needed to discuss details of logistics. Events may have to be altered or modified according to the latest COVID protocol.
