AYC is proud – on many levels – to be a major part of a new Texas Sailing Association (TSA) event to be held January 28 and 29, 2017 at the Corinthian Sailing Club in Dallas, TX!
This event was organized by AYC Past Commodore John Morran to bring together sailors from different generations and to honor Bob Gough, one of Texas‘s legendary race officials (and father of AYC member Terry Schertz)!
The winners of each of the classes of the 2016 Youth Circuit were invited to participate. Five of the eight invited youths are from AYC, including: Jamie Brock, Tony Slowik, Spencer LeGrande, Lucy Brock, and Julius Heikoetter.
The youth will race on Flying Scots with one adult crew from their home club and one TSA-supplied “Texas Legend” – including three of AYC’s own: Doug Kern, Linda McDavitt, and Scott Young.
This is a very exciting event. Congratulations and best of luck to all of the AYC participants and supporters!
