Happy New Year everyone! I am honored to be your 2022 Commodore. We have an amazing Board this year and have had very open and constructive discussions about the exciting things we have happening this year! The individual Commanders will be reporting on their plans. I think you will see some big changes and improvements this year. I’m excited to be working with such a wonderful Board.
Please be patient with us as we follow the Covid guidelines. Signage is required by Travis County. Please do not remove the signage as AYC could be fined if the signs are not posted, per Mayor Adler. The great news is that we can still sail in a safe manner.
The AYC Opening Day will be held on March 6, 2022. We will be looking at the Covid stage in the next couple of weeks and decide if we will be doing the festivities remotely or in person. Either way we will have a great celebration and racing.
I would like to start Coffee with the Commodore monthly to better communicate with members in a smaller group than at the Board Meeting. I will have one of the Commanders with me each month so we can have a Commander focus each month. In February I will have Sail Training Commander, Linda McDavitt joining me. Our first Coffee with the Commodore will be on February 5th at 10am under the Clubhouse. Look forward to seeing everyone there!
