Fee: $50
Open to: Open to all keel boats, centerboard boats, and multi-hulls. Members and Non-Members.
Venue: AYC Clubhouse and along Lake Travis.

May 15 and 16, 2021

2021 Turnback Canyon Regatta Itinerary
Friday, May 14
6:00 pm Check-in and late registration opens at Austin
Yacht Club.
6:00-8:00 pm Informal Beer Can Race with snacks
available following the race.
8:00 pm Check-in and late registration closes for the
evening.
Saturday, May 15 – Up the lake and back race
8:00 am Check-in and late registration opens
Complimentary Breakfast tacos
9:30 am Check-in and late registration closes Skipper’s briefing begins
10:00 am Competitor’s briefing – under the clubhouse
11:00 am First Warning for the racing classes
4:00 pm Possible first boats begin arriving at finish line
5:00 pm Last of boats arrive at AYC
5:30 pm Dinner service begins at AYC
7:00 pm Live music and dancing
Sunday, May 16
8:00 am Complimentary Continental Breakfast at AYC
11:00 am First Warning for the racing classes
3:00 pm Awards Ceremony – Timing very wind-dependent

Volunteers Needed, please?

If you aren’t sailing, please consider volunteering.  This event takes a lot of effort and can’t be successful without the support of volunteers.  Breakfast and lunch will be included for the day(s) that you volunteer.  

We need:

  • Race Committee for both days
  • Advertising/Marketing team
  • T-Shirt team
  • Trophy team
  • Registration Help for Friday evening and Saturday Morning
  • Help with Breakfast on Saturday
  • Saturday Party setup
  • Cleanup help on Sunday
  • Help with various other chores. 
  • Photography Team

****PROBATIONARY MEMBERS!!  All these volunteer activities will count towards your Probationary Requirements!!  ****

  • We will do our best to assign you the duties you requested but please be flexible. Thanks. A typical regatta requires at least 25-30 volunteers to manage the various duties. Volunteers typically get merchandise and/or meals included - check with the Regatta Chairman for your perks.
