Whether you are new to sailing or looking to improve your skills, the Sail Training program at the Austin Yacht Club has something for everyone. Our programs provide the opportunity for adults to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to enjoy the sport of sailing!

If you have any questions, or want more information;
AYC offers a variety of half-day and full-day clinics for beginning to advanced level sailors. Our clinics are designed to educate sailors through both classroom discussion and hands-on training on the water.
Smallboat Introduction to Sailing Series
The Austin Yacht Club offers a Smallboat Introduction to Sailing Series during the the fall and spring. During this class, students sail in our fleet of Flying Juniors (FJs). This class is geared towards adults, and is open to all skill levels, from beginners with no sailing experience to more accomplished sailors just looking to experience dinghy sailing. For Junior Sailing information, please visit our Junior Sailing Program page. Our Sailing Series classes are held Sunday mornings from 11am-1pm. Each series will feature five days of sailing.
The Austin Yacht Club is an accredited American Sailing Association (ASA) School. Through ASA, our certified instructors can provide you with a progressive sailing certification experience.

If you cannot find a training option that fits your needs and schedule, or if you prefer a more private approach, AYC offers private lessons that can be scheduled at your convenience! Whatever your needs are, our US Sailing certified instructors will work with you to create a training experience that’s right for you.
